Volunteers sought

Sarahjayne Clements, the Royal Commission’s CBA Community Archaeologist, is looking for volunteers to interview for an oral histories project she is running in Swansea with the Young Archaeologist Club. They would like to record memories of the city and scan any old photographs that you might have. They are also interested in any First World War memories, photographs and memorabilia that you may have.

Birmingham Conservation Trust – After over a decade of fundraising and a year of refurbishment, Birmingham Conservation Trust are delighted to be opening to the public the Newman Brothers factory at the Coffin Works, Jewellery Quarter, from late October 2014. This fantastic grade II* listed factory which made coffin furniture for over 100 years, will offer visitors the extraordinary opportunity to ‘step back in time’ and experience the factory as a ‘time-capsule’, set in the 1960s; full of original stock and machinery and with many a tale to tell!
