Europa Nostra UK (of which&nbsp;<strong>Kate Pugh FSA<\/strong>&nbsp;is Secretary) is keen that the UK continues to share its expertise and commitment as a leading player in European cultural heritage. With\u202f62 examples\u202fsince 2002, the UK ranks second only to Spain in the number of winning entries. This year, Project Iron Bridge was one of 21 \u2018exemplary achievements\u2019, winning an award in Conservation Category, while\u202fThe Crossroads of Empires Project\u202f(Birmingham University) had a Special Mention in the Research category, and the Friends of Czech Heritage is currently shortlisted for one of the two Ilucidare special prizes.<br><br>The four award categories are Conservation; Research; Dedicated Service by Individuals or Organisations; and Education, Training and Awareness-Raising.\u202f\u202fTwo Ilucidare Special Prizes will again be awarded, selected from the applications, to showcase outstanding examples of heritage-led innovation and international relations around Europe.
