{"id":1227,"date":"2023-03-09T15:11:41","date_gmt":"2023-03-09T15:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/awards.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1227"},"modified":"2023-03-09T15:11:42","modified_gmt":"2023-03-09T15:11:42","slug":"nhig-award-for-heritage-metalwork-conservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/awards.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1227","title":{"rendered":"NHIG Award <strong>for Heritage Metalwork Conservation<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nhig.org.uk\/nhig-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>NHIG Award<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>for Heritage Metalwork Conservation<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0seeks to\u00a0<strong>recognise and celebrate excellence in ironwork conservation<\/strong>\u00a0as an inspiration to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The judges will be interested in<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Appropriateness of materials and techniques used<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u2022 Extent to which loss of original fabric was minimised<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Quality of craftsmanship<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To enter, please use the form below<\/strong>. You will need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>provide a brief description of the ironwork<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>outline the work carried out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>explain what approach was taken and why&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>send images (min. 3, max. 6) separately by file transfer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A panel of experienced judges drawn from members of the NHIG Council and the WCB Craft Committee will assess the entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judging panel will visit shorlisted projects so please ensure that access to the site is possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NHIG will publicise competition entries and outcomes as examples of good practice to inspire others. Please ensure that all permissions have been sought prior to entry and that images have been cleared for use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who Can Enter?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries can be submitted by anyone closely connected with a project, although the award will be presented to the practitioner who carried out the work. Members of the judging panel are NOT eligible to enter. A maximum of three submissions can be made per person\/team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opening\/Closing Date<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 Application Round will open on&nbsp;<strong>10th March 2023<\/strong>&nbsp;and close on&nbsp;<strong>31st May 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Final Decision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision of the judging panel is final.
