{"id":574,"date":"2016-06-30T09:37:42","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T09:37:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/awards.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=574"},"modified":"2016-06-30T09:37:42","modified_gmt":"2016-06-30T09:37:42","slug":"phd-studentship-in-architecture-health-science-and-biomedical-engineering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/awards.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=574","title":{"rendered":"PhD Studentship in Architecture, Health Science, and Biomedical Engineering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Applications are invited for a Government funded Interdisciplinary <strong>PhD studentship<\/strong><br \/>\ntenable in the Faculty of Art, Design, and the Built Environment at the Belfast Campus<br \/>\n(jointly with the Faculties of Life and Health Sciences, and of Computing and<br \/>\nEngineering).<\/p>\n<p>This PhD proposal examines the civic issues and efficacy of integrating <strong>assistive<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>technology solutions in architectural design<\/strong> for ageing populations as more holistic and<br \/>\nflexible processes. It examines the <strong>barriers<\/strong> and <strong>benefits<\/strong> for integrating devices and<br \/>\nspatial considerations at early stages of planning and development, and how these<br \/>\nenvironments are envisaged by the healthcare professionals, users, and development<br \/>\nstakeholders who influence the direction and funding of research\/production in this fast<br \/>\ngrowing area.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be considered on a competitive basis with regard to the candidate\u2019s<br \/>\nqualifications, skills experience and interests relative to the proposal, and will be invited<br \/>\nto comment on the project scope and key issues at interview.
