2018 Travel Scholarship for Architecture Students

Thanks to the support of Yiangou Architects, INTBAU is launching a biennial £2,000 travel scholarship to encourage the next generation of researchers and practitioners of traditional architecture, and to support research of clear value that would not otherwise be undertaken. The closing date is 31st May 2018.

Applications are sought from full-time architecture students. Judges will be looking for original research proposals related to one of the three themes for INTBAU’s 2018 World Congress, which will take place at the Royal Society of Arts in London on 27th and 28th November:

1. Contexts
2. Materials
3. Identities

Scholarship recipients will produce a record of their travel and research in a format that can be featured as part of the World Congress programme: for example, an essay, or a series of drawings and images.

To help make the scholarship as widely and globally accessible as possible, an additional stipend of up to £750 may be provided to students for whom the costs of travel, accommodation, and visas would exceed £2,000 because of distance or other unavoidable factors.
